Priscilla Coleman Jenkins is a retired music educator, singer, composer, bible teacher, YouTuber, author, and founder of Overcomers Journey Through Scriptural Prayers Ministries 501 (c)(3) (October 2023). Her life is a great expression of God's love through Jesus Christ.
She holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Howard University and a Master's of Secondary Education from Bowie State University.
Priscilla has studied the Bible through educational courses, online teachings and bible based books for over 40 years and continues today. "Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15
Outreach has been Priscilla's focus for over 30 years. Her songs and scriptural prayers provide hope and encouragement in nursing homes, hospice hospitals, homeless camping sites, and shelters as she distributes social service resources along with food, clothing and toiletries. Lives are changed by the love and word of God through her ministry as mentor to disadvantaged youth, children of the incarcerated, their guardians, and at a women's detention center.
In November 2021, Priscilla and her late husband Pastor Elder Dr. James N. Jenkins, Jr. co founded The Compassion of Christ Church DC, Inc. (COCCDC). It was a virtual ministry. She assisted COCCDC in several administrative roles, co taught Conference Call Bible Study on Saturdays, for the YouTube Sunday Services provided music/songs and scriptural prayers on their Channel "Compassion of Christ Church DC". They partnered with other ministries and churches to do in-person Outreach in Washington, D.C. In July 2022 when Dr. Jenkins became ill, she taught the word of God for Sunday services on their YouTube Channel for several weeks.
Pastor Dr. Elder Jenkins passed from this life's journey February 21, 2023. Priscilla honored his request to end Compassion of Christ Church DC after his transition to heaven. However, past services and "In Remembrance of Pastor Jenkins" videos can be viewed on the YouTube channel @compassionofchristchurchdc.
Priscilla's book, "An Overcomers' Journey From the Effects of Abuse Through Scriptural Prayers" was published in 2015. It is her autobiography of how God's word is the key to her freedom and transformation from the effects of abuse and an eating disorder. This book has 36 topics with over 500 scriptures written out for the reader to create scriptural prayers.
Her book, "Freedom from Bondage: From Never Feeling Hunger to Abundance" was also published in 2015. It is about the eating disorder and has specific scriptural prayers for deliverance.
Priscilla's book, "Compassionate Outreach: A Journey from Crime to Ministry- The Legacy of Dr. James Napolean Jenkins, Jr." her late husband's biography was published in September 2023. It is a fulfillment of his desire to write a book about his changed life through Jesus Christ and how he helped others to do the same. It includes the names of social service organizations Dr Jenkins networked with in the Washington, D.C. area.
Her book, "Escape from 623 Biography of "Queen"Esther Mary Coleman: A Life of Great Faith" is her late sister's biography. It was published September 2024. "Queen" Esther persevered through abuse, tragedy and a terminal diagnosis believing God for deliverance despite the circumstances. This book is a fulfillment of her sister's desire to write her story. It shares scriptures and samples of Esther's outstanding artwork.
